Snowmass Base Village Reservations System Update

The Base Village marketing has been delayed waiting for the final vote which occurred on February 3, 2005 and base village is now all systems go. I have prepared this rough draft summary ahead of their marketing release to help my clients scoop the market.

Reservation System: $10,000 Reservation Form

  • The $10,000 is totally refundable and places your name in a priority reservation system for the end of March selection event.
  • Reservation deposits received before February 17, 2005 places you in a higher reservation category.
  • Reservation deposits received after February 17, 2005 will be placed in line by time and date received.
  • I urge anyone remotely interested to contact me as soon as possible to make the February 17, 1005 deadline.

Floor Plans & Details:

  • Floor plans and basic details are promised shortly. I suggest that you do not wait until the floor plans and details arrive to put in your reservation.

Basic Information: (subject to change by developer)

  • Association fees to be determined
  • Completion date approximately 2 years
  • Developer in Intrawest
  • Down payment #1: Down payment of 10% is required at the Selection Event scheduled for late March or early April ‘05
  • Down payment #2: Down payment of an additional 10% due once framing is completed
  • Furniture packages will be available (optional)
  • Ground breaking scheduled for the Spring ‘05
  • Multiple units will require one reservation form for each unit desired to be purchased
  • Parking will be underground
  • Phase I will have 89 units
  • Pricing will be in the range of $1000/square foot
  • Rental of property will be encouraged
  • Reservations deposits are not assignable but fully refundable
  • Selection event is the date you pick your individual unit
  • Showrooms scheduled to be available in Aspen and Snowmass soon
  • Shuttle service to Aspen available
  • Total development will be approximately 610 units
  • Website to be up and running soon

P.S. Now is the time to get into the reservation system. Once in the system you can decide if the project is right for you, remember, your deposit is fully refundable.

Note: Vail just had a similar project named Arrabelle receive 574 reservations on 52 units in one day. Time is of the essence.

Ski Co. Grateful
For A Yes Vote

Jim Crown, whose family has been full owners of the Aspen Skiing Co. since 1993, said Friday he is thrilled Base Village has been approved by Snowmass residents.

The development, which had divided the small town, was approved by voters on Thursday. The election was sparked by a referendum launched by a citizens group in December. It drew a record turnout with about 55 percent of the 1,155 voters supporting Base Village. There are 1,772 registered voters in Snowmass Village.

"We are thrilled with the outcome of the vote," Crown said from Florida via a teleconference with reporters. "We're extremely grateful to the citizens of Snowmass for the trust they have put in us and especially grateful to the community groups and the people who worked so hard to make this a successful referendum."
